Blanket Time Plain And Simple

We've been trying something new at our little country home.
Miss Bella has been working on Blanket-Time.
I place her on the blanket... give her a several toys and a book.
She is then told to stay there till Mommy says "Time to get up"
Then, I set the timer and go in and out of the room, allowing her to experience the time alone.
Each time she gets off the blanket, she is told to stay put and placed back on the spot.
(A spanking is given if there is too much getting up)
Today she did 15 minutes with no crying or trying to get away.
Usually, I do several little periods like this through-out the day.
I like to use it at lunch-time as I make the food.

My long term goal is to work up to her playing for an hour on the blanket.
I have already noticed a difference in her behavior.

I read a friend of a friend's blog and she got this idea from the Dugger family.
I liked it so well, I decided to bring it into the Walters' home.
We have always done room time but, I think I like this even more.

I have been thinking and praying a lot lately for wisdom in our training of Bella.
I want her to come to be obedient and have the best character possible.
I love her so much and my greatest joy would be to see her serving the Lord with her whole heart.
I am trying to plant those seeds now,
and hopefully they will sprout and grow within her.

I'm so glad this is working for you!!! What an adorable little girl you have! I remember meeting you YEARS ago down at Shasta with Katie M. ( maybe 10ish years ago?)I'm so blessed to find another mom passionate about raising her children to honor the Lord. Blessings to you!
