I needed an inexpensive birthday sign that matched my personal tastes so I went web-hunting and found a very simple way to make some at home.
You will need
As many pieces of 12x12 card stock or print paper as you want
(depending on what your banner will say)
Ribbon of your choice
8.5x11 card stock
hole-punch
Adhesive
Scissors
Using a ruler mark the center point of the 12x12 cardstock
Using that center point as a mark measure at an angle towards the outside
After everything is marked, cut along your line.
When you are finished you can see each piece of cardstock looks a little like a pennant
As my lovely photo demonstrates.
Choose your phrase and use your computer, or fine writing abilities to write it on the 8.5x11 card stock.
Cut it out and past it onto the pennants
Finally, measure where you would like the ribbon to go through and hole punch it!
I find that shouting out a little "Ah" as I push down is both fun and makes my dear husband ask "What is the matter?"
Thread the ribbon through and loop the ends.
Your banner is now complete!
Sad to say my photo did not turn out very well, as something is slightly wrong with my camera but you can get an idea of the finished product.

This is too cute! I've actually been thinking of making something somewhat similar as a wall hanging in my bedroom. Great job!
