Being Blessed By Babies

When reading articles in Ladies Home Journal or Parents Magazine
I find myself chuckling quite a bit.
They barrage us with headings like "Dress like you're not a mom” "Trendy haircuts for the unmommy in you" or “Make-up Secrets of the non-mom”
We've all seen them.
Instead of being reminded to train up our children, it seems like all society wants to do is repeat over and over again how they burden us or how we can escape being a mother.
We are seldom reminded what a blessing from the Lord these little ones are.
I was listening to John MacArthur speak today about motherhood and what a high calling it is. We are called by God to pour ourselves into these little ones.
Investing our time, toil and love all for his glory.
If you take time to ponder, you are the one who opens their eyes to the world around them.
First steps, laughter, the wonder of the world, the joy of words, hearing about our Lord and Savior……
That is all you Mom!
It can sometimes seem hard but, we must focus on the prize before us and run this race with diligence and perseverance.
Remember we are leaving a legacy with our children and some day as we rest with the Lord, our children will not think of any of the trendy looks we might have tried.
They will remember the care we have given them, they will think of the fond looks of love only a mom can bestow, they will reflect on our encouraging words and the message of Christ we have given them.

Psalm 127:3 is a good reminder of how we should view our Children
It says “Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.”

So today Moms, if your job is feeling a little trying and you are at wits end.
Remember you have a job of supreme importance. These little hearts and minds are yours to sculpt.
That my friend, is worth a wrinkles, less make up and hair with split ends.

May God richly bless you today!

Ephesians
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the
training and instruction of the Lord.
