Cleaning Naturally Part 1

So, I have been meaning to sit down and pluck this little old post out for a while now but, life and its living get in the way of writing. Who knew?
So here is my Natural Cleaning 101 with recipes and pictures (Photo happy dance)
I realized today, that I am almost totally converted over to a natural home. With my make up being the final hold out. I think we can live with that.
Aside from the cleaners I mention I also use Borax, Baking Soda, bottled peroxide, (with a sprayer in the top) White vinegar and Apple Cider Vinegar.

So, here we go!

Shower Cleaner

Ingredients

Fill spray bottle 1/4 full of Dawn liquid dish soap (Yep, it has to be Dawn)
Fill bottle to 1/2 full with white vinegar
Fill the rest with water
I use this in the sinks or shower
You can also do the same thing in a bowl with the addition of baking soda.

Dr Bronner's Magic Soap

This is an all-purpose liquid castile soap.
I use it to clean toilets, diluted in a spray bottle, in my dishwasher etc
It comes in several scents including lavender, tea tree oil, citrus, and peppermint.
It SMELLS amazing! However, the credo of the man who developed it, is a little scary.
I will be doing a separate post on all of the pros and cons of this soap.

Orange Peel Cleaner
(Or the Pinterest post that everyone talks about)

Ingredients
Fill a mason jar with orange peels, and fill to the top with white vinegar
Let sit for 2 weeks and then take a spray bottle and fill it half way up with the orange mix. (Minus the peels of course)
Then top it off with water.
This smells delightfully orange, and clean. It is great for cutting grease.

Cleaning Cloths Made Simple

The orange basket is for my clean cloths to tidy with and the container on the right is for the dirty. No more worries about what to do with them when I am done. I throw it in there, in whatever state it is in.
I also purchased a large pack of washcloths for my cleaning to help cut down on the amount of paper towels I use.

Lemon Juice

I use this to clean out my dishwasher and as a general de-greaser on the stove, oven and microwave.
To clean the dishwasher with it, I dump about a cup in and let it run on its cycle sans dishes

Here is a photo of my laundry closet. I am currently working on ways to make it look a bit more suitable. So, check back after the revamp is done for adorable vintage overload. (wahoo)
