Faith, what a word.
For the believer it is the complete trust and belief in God.
Much of the time pain and pressures in this life are what feel real.
They can press in and take control of our minds.
This world though is passing and is a fallen miserable place. I think, if it were not so horrible our minds and hearts would not need to long for heaven so much.
Faith, is pulling yourself up (in spite of everything) and fixing your eyes on Jesus, who at this moment can not be seen but, is at the Father's right hand in heaven.
We need to look away from the fleeting moments in this world and look up.
Since I was a child, I have heard the "Wind example" given for belief and faith in God.
We can not see the wind, nor can we touch it exactly but, we believe it is there because we feel it blow.
We can not see God, yet we believe he is living and powerful.
Seeing and then believing is not true faith. We must trust.

2 Corinthians 4:18 says
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seens is temporary but, what is unseen is eternal
