Beautiful Baked Beans

3 small cans of pork and beans
1 can of kidney beans (drained)
1 can of black beans (drained)
1 can of pinto beans (drained)
8 strips of bacon
1/2 onion
3/4 of a bottle of bbq sauce
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons black-strap molasses
1 tablespoon pepper
Dash of hot sauce
3 tablespoons yellow mustard

Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces and render the fat in a pan.
The idea is not to cook the bacon just get the grease out.
Place on a paper towel and dry.
Leaving the grease in pan for later use.

Combine all other ingredients, except onion in a large bowl

Chop onion into small bits and fry in pan till tender (8-10 minutes)
Pour into bowl of bean mixture and stir

Pour bean mix into a large casserole dish
Top with bacon slices in a nice even pattern

Bake for 2 hours at 325, till dish is not soupy and bacon is nice and crispy

These are amazing and if you serve them at a barbecue,
people will faint from the goodness of the beans
