I have been thinking about how we as women affect people around us,
those we meet that are Christian and Non-Christian.
For me, Dave and I decided long ago that I would stay at home with the kids and be a
"stay at home wife and mother"
I have been wrapping my mind around what that means for me, and other stay at home wives.
It brought up,the need to check our appearance.
How are we presenting ourselves to the world?
We may be the only stay at home wife or mother that someone sees.
If we appear disheveled and unkempt, what message does that send to them?
I am not advising women to constantly be checking their appearance but, gently reminding myself and others that we have a higher calling.
The Bible Says
"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."Colossians 3:17
We are busy moms and wives, and I am not saying that we should be beauty queen worthy
but, I am just thinking of keeping ourselves clean and neat :)
The other one was the need for a cheerful attitude.
This I believe is the most important.
We represent Christ to all we meet and this is the number one way we can show people a difference in our attitude.
As a stay at home mom I need to be very careful in not complaining about my duties, my children or taking care of my husband.
I need to always represent my family with a cheerful heart and words
Again, I am not saying we should have fake smiles and whistle silly tunes.
I am simply making the point that we can always find positive things
in our lives to share instead of negative
As First Timothy says "Be joyful always"
“Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;
1 Peter 3:10
This sounds so easy in blog or on paper but, the practice of it.... well therein lies the rub.
Please pray for me ladies as I daily struggle to be joyful and use my words well.
I fall so short of what I should be.
This journey is long and hard but, someday we will be glorified with God in heaven.
Oh what a day!
