"My First 300 Babies"

Thoughts on "My First 300 Babies"

This book will not appeal to everyone and some people might find it not suiting their tastes at all.
However, I have found it to be the single most helpful thing I've read since becoming a new mom.

Gladys' book is full of practical advice for working with a newborn. Babies do not come with instructions but, you will feel almost like they did as you follow through this book. I carried it around with me for a week after I received it, so whenever I had a question about something I could read through and feel better.
From the very beginning it puts the parent in the drivers seat, of their relationship with the child. You feel more in control as your baby learns from you what to expect next.
For my daughter, it took a few times to work with her to get her to that next level. The work was worth it though as she became more content and in turn it made me a less stressed out mommy.

Obviously, common sense should rule with some things in the book.
I put my baby to sleep on her back as that is the safest.
Also, I am not an iron hand as far as picking baby up sometimes when they are crying or about feeding a little early if they are genuinely hungry.
Ultimately babies are so much smarter then we have given them credit for, and I think this book gives wonderful ways for you to start off at birth being a consistent parent.
Being a consistent parent doesn't mean you love your children any less because you do things at a certain time. Everything I do is filled with love for my little one, from the first diaper I put on in the morning,to my evening singing time.

Thank you Gladys for helping me give my child a great start!
