Well, today is a little more ho-hum then some birthdays
I can think of.
My friend said it well,
"Birthdays lose some of their glimmer when you become a mom"
While this birthday slightly less glimmery-shimmery then past years, it has several somethings that are far better then
candles, crepe paper and balloons.
My husband and children, outshine any candle-flame!
As I look back at my life even in the middle of fun parties,
I don't think I was as grateful for life as I am today.
I have been blessed with a truly amazing husband.
Dave is so patient with me
and tries to make me feel loved and wanted.
he has given me a place
where I feel safe and secure.
I love that about him.
He has been a good leader in our home.
Helping me learn to follow his lead but, never being overbearing.
Teaching my kids about God, life and everything in between
is such an amazing responsibility.
Conner and Bella are my other two that I count as gifts on this day of my birth.
I am constantly amazed at how overwhelmed I feel at times raising a passionate two year old.
I know I am not alone in this struggle of extreme love and fatigue!
I just need to keep going to the ultimate source and example of love and discipline.
Our heavenly father!
He renews my spirit and in this, I can arise and parent again with joy!
I love being a mother!
I would never, ever trade one moment good or frustrating
with these little guys.
I love seeing them grow, learn and become part of the world.
Being a stay at home mom is the best job
I could ever hope to have!!!

Happy Birthday, Mel!! :) Hope you have a great one, even if it isn't as "exciting" as when you were younger. At least as moms we get to throw parties for our kiddos. :D
